Energy Cost Calculator
How do you weigh the options available to optimize your energy consumption? The following energy calculator (from the Canadian government) for homes with only one heating source, lets you compare the costs of your current home heating system with the savings offered by newer equipment and other sources of energy. The results should be used only as a guide.
Grants and Rebates
Tens of thousands of British Columbians are saving energy and money because of their participation in the LiveSmart BC: Efficiency Incentive Program. You can join your neighbours across B.C. who are saving money and reducing energy use by accessing these incentives.
Energy Star
ENERGY STAR is a voluntary awareness, communications and marketing campaign developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1992 to promote energy efficiency. Manufacturers (e.g. Trane) can partner with the EPA to label their high-efficiency systems with the ENERGY STAR label so homeowners can easily identify those higher-efficiency products that can help reduce pollution problems.
